Bio

I am an alumnus of Marshall County High School and a U.S. Army combat veteran.

My favorite pastimes are music, motorcycles, and traveling. I play trumpet in the Maury County Community Band and also play guitar. I speak Spanish, French, and Korean and have studied German, Russian, Latin, and Japanese.

I have been teaching at MCHS since 1996, where I am head of the Foreign Language Department and the Spanish Club sponsor. My wife also teaches Spanish at another school. (She does a lot more than that, but that’s HER bio).

I also served as assistant band director for 5 years at MCHS, and used to play trumpet and guitar with the MCHS Jazz Band. I also served as a bugler for the Lewisburg Police Honor Guard for several years.

I have spent my entire adult life learning languages and cultures from around the world and have witnessed first-hand the great many benefits and opportunities learning languages presents.
